The 2024 Brasileirão started this weekend with a round full of action, goals and controversies. The new season kicked off on Saturday, with Internacional defeating Bahia in Porto Alegre, while Criciúma and Juventude shared the points at Heriberto Hülse Stadium.
Later on, Fluminense and Red Bull Bragantino drew 2-2, while Fortaleza claimed beat São Paulo 2-1 at Morumbi. The action continued on Sunday, with Vasco da Gama securing a 2-1 win against Grêmio at São Januário.

In Curitiba, Athletico Paranaense shone against Cuiabá, picking up a 4-0 victory, which was the biggest result of the weekend. Flamengo clinched a dramatic victory in their visit to Atlético Goianiense with a controversial penalty at the end, and the refereeing also left much to be desired in the goalless draw between Corinthians and Atlético Mineiro.
Cruzeiro and Botafogo played an entertaining match in Belo Horizonte, but it was Raposa who took all three points with a stoppage-time goal to seal a 3-2 win. In the last match of the round, Palmeiras claimed a hard-fought win over Vitória.
