“Unfortunately or fortunately, you usually face perhaps the best player of the other team playing as right or left-back. You get players like Mbappé or Vinicius… Two of the best players in European football right now. I know he is very strong in one-on-one situations. Like Kylian Mbappé. So I am very happy to face him and compete with him,” said Kimmich.

“We all have some weaknesses and some strengths. I don’t want to talk about his weaknesses. Vinicius is a very, very strong player. I have to focus, defend, and when I have the opportunity to attack, of course I want to do it. But initially, we have to focus on defending and be focused on our game.”

Remembering Zagallo

Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach. The first three episodes are available on Sambafoot’s Youtube channel. Stay tuned for the upcoming releases as we keep telling this legend’s life story.
