Santos’ win over Palmeiras in the first leg of the Campeonato Paulista final did not go unnoticed by renowned sports icons worldwide. In addition to Neymar’s presence at Vila Belmiro, another star who reacted to the result was Andrés Iniesta.

Just a few emojis with raised hands were enough to make Peixe fans go wild on social media, as the Spanish midfielder wrote in the comment section on a club post in collaboration with Diego Pituca.

It is worth noting that the Barcelona legend follows the Alvinegro captain on Instagram but not Santos, which may explain how the post appeared on his feed. The 2010 World Cup champion with Spain faced Pituca on several occasions in Japan, when he played for Vissel Kobe while the Brazilian did so for Kashima Antlers.

Either way, Iniesta’s comment gave plenty to talk about and was enough to drive Peixe’s fan base crazy, as the fans wasted no time in asking for his arrival, no matter how unlikely it may sound.

At 39, Iniesta has been at Emirates Club in the United Arab Emirates since August 2023, and his contract expires in June. Although his recent reaction on social media never implied any desire to move to Brazil, Santos are already dreaming of his visit.
