La Liga champions Barcelona have confirmed that summer signing Neymar will be presented to the press on Monday.

The 21-year-old star opted to join the Blaugrana after boyhood club Santos accepted offers from both Barca and Real Madrid last week.

The club have now confirmed that they will present Neymar as a Barcelona player next Monday, having received permission from the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF).

Carlos Alberto Parreira, Brazil"s technical director, told Spanish media: “Not only do we agree, but we authorise him to be presented, to do all the interviews he has to do.

“[Then] he will return to the squad base with his head focused on the national team and the competition."

The Brazil international is currently training with the Seleção ahead of their Confederations Cup campaign next month and will travel to Catalonia after Sunday’s friendly with England.

Barca said on their official website: “In an intense day, the striker will take the habitual medical tests before signing his contract with Barcelona for the next five seasons.

“On the same day, he will give his presentation press conference to the media and feel the warmth of the fans in a photo session that will be organised on the pitch at the Nou Camp."

Barca have one match left to play this season when Malaga visit on Saturday, and a victory would see them match La Liga"s record haul of 100 points set by Jose Mourinho"s Real Madrid last season.
