André Santos, 29, joined Arsenal from Galatasaray’s fierce rivals Fenerbahçe in August 2011, but has failed to secure a regular first-team slot at the Emirates Stadium.
Earlier this week, the full-back confirmed that he would be interested in a return to his former side if an offer presented itself, but it appears that it may be a different offer from Turkey that eventually arrives.
Galatasaray director Aribogan, though, did confirm that the club were yet to make any contact with either player or club over a deal, despite having identified the Brazilian as a target.
He told Turkish newspaper Fanatik: “Andre Santos is one of the names (we have) on our list. We currently have no contact with his club and the player himself.”
