Brazil coach Mano Menezes has praised Hulk by saying the forward compliments the Seleção’s other attackers.

The 50-year-old was speaking after Brazil’s 4-0 win over Japan on Tuesday, in which Paulinho and Kaká scored and Neymar grabbed a brace.

Zenit St. Petersburg striker Hulk, who started the game, was not on the scoresheet this time but contributed to his side’s attacking threat, including an assist for Kaká’s goal.

Mano Menezes said: “We have three very technical players in attack but we cannot field a team with just players of this feature.

“Hulk is a powerful player physically, and is a different threat to our opponents because he complements the other three players.”

Hulk has been a predominant figure for the Seleção in recent months and was selected as one of Brazil’s overage players for the London Olympics, where he claimed a silver medal.

The 26-year-old will be looking for more game time in Brazil’s upcoming Superclássico das Américas second leg match against Argentina.

The game takes place on November 21, after a floodlight failure caused the original match to be abandoned.
