The Flamengo board resumed negotiations with Leo Rabelo (Neves’ agent) last Thursday, aware of the impending deadline that must be met. Negotiations continue over the weekend, with the hope that there will be favorable news early next week.

“We know it will be a difficult negotiation, but Thiago is aware of our efforts for him to stay with us next year,” said Director of Football Luiz Augusto Veloso.

After meeting with Flamengo last week, Leo Rabello had expressed concern at the delay in response to Al-Hilal on the terms of the proposal. The Arabian side has stipulated a value of €8 million for the sale of the remaining 90% of the economic rights to the player and the club has until November 30 to send an acceptable offer.

“Flamengo want to stay with the player. I spoke with Thiago this week and he is calm,” continued the Director of Football, talking to LANCE!

“We will negotiate according to our capabilities. We cannot give details of the terms that we intend to offer, we can only say it will be within our budget.”

Securing the player’s future before the November 30th deadline is now a priority for the club, for the player of whom they already hold a 10% stake.
