After a good outing in the Paulista Championship, Massa Bruta was unable to repeat the performance at the Brasileirão. Bragantino have suffered a woeful start to the season so far and already find themselves in the relegation scrap just after six games played.

The players of the club were already notified way earlier before the announcement was made known to the public.

Bragantino’s performance in the duel against Fortaleza was the final nail in the coffin for the 41-year-old manager.

For the game, Felipe Conceição made an awkward decision to leave out his most experienced stars on the bench and field a younger inexperienced side.

It was no surprise that the game turned out badly for his side on the pitch and it ended in a woeful 3-0 defeat to Fortaleza last weekend. It was easily Bragantino’s worst performance of the year so far.

Off the pitch, the atmosphere at the club has not been great as well. Some of the players were reportedly not pleased with the manager’s selection on the pitch. Ytalo who was left out on the bench against Fortaleza liked a photo of Wellington Paulista celebrating a goal on InstagramHowever, the forward apologized after.

Felipe Conceição arrived at Bragantino at the end of January. With good performances at Paulista, he took Bragantino to the overall leadership of the tournament but lost to Corinthians in the quarter-final of the competition. Since that fixture, the manager started to field the young players and the problems started for the team.

Bragantino are in 17th place in the Brasileirão standings with only one win so far this term.

In the absence of Felipe, assistant coach Marcinho will be interim coach for Bragantino.
