Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar has recently spoken of his desire to return to the Premier League. In an interview with Premier League Brasil, the Brazilian said the league is his favorite in the world and he would love to play in England again.

In January 2017, Oscar announced his departure from Chelsea to join Chinese club Shanghai Port. The transfer cost an impressive £67million, making him the most expensive transfer in Asia. Oscar then became one of the highest paid players in the world, with a weekly salary of £400,000.

Since then, Oscar has played 176 games for Shanghai Port, scoring 52 goals and providing 96 assists. In his interview, he said he had no regrets about his decision to move to China at the age of 25. He also said he was not committed to finishing his career in Shanghai and that it would be “cool” to return to the Premier League.

Oscar had an impressive time at Chelsea, where he was bought for 32 million euros in 2012. The attacking midfielder adapted quickly to his new environment, showing his versatility playing both in the axis than on the sides.

During his first season with the Blues, Oscar played 64 games in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 11 assists. Before leaving Chelsea for Shanghai, he had played 131 Premier League games, with 21 goals and 24 assists.

The 2014-2015 season was the best of his career, with 6 goals scored and 8 assists delivered, thus contributing to Chelsea’s league title. He also won the Europa League in 2012-2013 and the Carabao Cup in 2015 with the Blues.

Although his adventure in China was successful on an individual level, Oscar now seems to be looking to return to Europe, and more specifically to the Premier League. Chelsea fans may be delighted to see their former player make a surprise return to Stamford Bridge. In the meantime, only time will tell where Oscar will star next season.
