While Alex Telles was preparing for the friendly between Morocco and Brazil, Manchester United made a decision about the left-back’s future. Sevilla are unlikely to sign him permanently when the loan contract expires and, with that, the Red Devils are waiting for the Brazilian to return at the end of the European season.

The player has a loan agreement with the Spanish club until June 30 of this year, while the bond with United is valid until June 2024. According to a publication by journalist Fabrizio Romano, the board of the English club still does not know if he will either be loaned out to another club or used by manager Erik ten Hag.

Alex Telles’ career at Manchester United

Currently aged 30, the left-back arrived at Old Trafford in October 2020 – in a negotiation that cost €15 million (R$99 million at the time). Previously, the player defended Porto for four seasons, being responsible for 26 goals and 57 assists in 195 matches.

Alex Telles played 50 games for Manchester United, with one goal and eight assists, and did not lift a single trophy. Without falling in favor of Erik ten Hag, the defender preferred to agree with Sevilla’s offer, where he has three goal passes in 27 appearances.

In Brazil’s defeat against Morocco, the athlete from the Spanish club played every minute, but did not receive positive reviews from the fans. He was present among the 26 squad that played in the World Cup, however, he was cut during the group stage due to injury.
