Minutes before the start of the rout over Sheffield United, this Saturday (27), in the 35th round of the Premier League, the Newcastle fans made a mosaic and a banner in honor of Brazilian players Joelinton and Bruno Guimarães.

The fans had individual flags in green, yellow, blue and white colors in the stands, forming a large Brazilian flag behind the goal. In addition, the Magpies carried a banner written in Portuguese for the athletes.

Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton receive tribute from Newcastle fans

Minutes before the match, which took place at St. James Park this Saturday (27), the fans formed a large Brazilian flag in the stands, in addition to carrying a banner with the phrase “From the Alliance and Rio to Newcastle Upon Tyne, a home away from home. Joelinton and Bruno, our Brazilian Geordies”.

Check out images of the mosaic below:

Joelinton is from Aliança, a municipality in Pernambuco, and Bruno Guimarães is from the capital of Rio de Janeiro. On the banner, the English wrote that the duo from these two Brazilian cities have, in Newcastle, a “home away from home”.

The five stars of the Brazilian national team’s Pentacampeonato Mundial were also placed on the banner.

Bruno Guimarães reaches 100 games for Newcastle

Recently, in a match valid for the English Championship, Bruno Guimarães reached the impressive mark of 100 matches for Newcastle. Faced with speculation about a possible departure, the midfielder stated that he is 100% focused on continuing to perform at a high level for the black and white team.

“I have no future thoughts. The present holds 100% of my attention. I am very focused on this, on maintaining this dream of the club’s qualification for a European competition. I am happy and I am happy here. And that’s what I’ve been 100% dedicated to since I signed for the club.”

The player would have caught the interest of Arsenal and Manchester City, according to the British press. Both are rivals of Newcastle in the Premier League. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Mbappé’s team, would also be monitoring the situation of the Brazilian midfielder.
