Santos won for the second time in the Brazilian Serie B Championship. This Friday (26), the Fish visited Avaí at Ressacada and defeated the opponent by a score of 2-0.

In the debut of the competition, Santos had beaten Paysandu, also by 2-0, at Vila Belmiro. Coach Fábio Carille praised the team’s early journey in Serie B, but asked for concentration for the next commitments.

“We are a very strong candidate for access and the title. We have to maintain humility here,” said the coach after the triumph in Santa Catarina.

“There are 36 rounds left, but if we continue with this level of concentration until the end, we will certainly be able to match the level,” added the Santos coach.

The coach praised the start of work in these first months of the season. But he stressed the importance of the Santos team continuing to evolve.

“My satisfaction is enormous. The opportunity to return, hire good professionals and players. It does a lot for quality, with experienced players who want something in their careers. A good start, but we have to improve in every game,” he went on.

In the match this Friday, against Avaí, Alfredo Morelos started the match among the starters. Fábio Carille justified the choice.

“Morelos is giving a much better response, trained, visibly lost weight and wants it. Furch still needs to be careful. Today he has a slight pain in the pubic area, as he stays on the field he can’t stand it,” he argued.

“We have this concern, both for the health of the athlete and not to burn a substitution in the first half. It’s all very well planned,” he explained.
