Santos achieved their second victory in the Brazilian Serie B Championship. On this Friday (26), the Peixe faced Avaí at Ressacada and triumphed 2-0.

But the São Paulo club may have a problem ahead. Santos fans lit flares in the stands during the second half of the match. The fact was reported in the match report by referee Lucas Paulo Torezin.

“I inform that at 2 minutes of the second half, the Santos fans used flares in the stands,” the referee began in the document.

“After identifying such an act, an announcement was requested on the stadium sound system that they should be turned off, and the situation was brought under control. The match was not interrupted due to this event,” the referee added.

In view of the incident, Santos may be judged and fined by the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD).

Suspended from last year

The Peixe is already serving a sanction of three home games with closed doors and three more with a partial audience. This punishment happened due to the confusion that occurred in the game against Fortaleza last year, at Vila Belmiro, which led to Santos’ relegation to the Brazilian Serie B.

Remembering Zagallo

Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.

The first, second and third episodes are available on Sambafoot’s Youtube channel. Stay tuned for the upcoming releases as we keep telling this legend’s life story.
