Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says thinks if Paris Saint Germain are successful in their pursuit of Barcelona forward Neymar, that the deal would have a transformative effect on the future of the transfer market.
The French club are trying to seal an audacious €222m deal for the Brazilian, which Klopp thinks would mark a sea change in the market throughout the world, “If Neymar is not a rumour then it’s more than the next level, it’s really not from this planet anymore.
“Really? 222million Euros? (£199m). I can’t believe that something like this would happen. But if it does happen then it changes everything actually.”
Klopp is fighting off interest from Barcelona in his own Brazilian player Philippe Coutinho and he insists that he has the full backing of the club’s owners in refuting Barca’s bids. “Everything I say comes back from the owners.
“Yes, I would say (he doesn’t have a price). It’s very clear. He’s not for sale. What else can I say? There are so many rumours around. Only one of them is the Coutinho rumour.”
