Luis Enrique won the Gold medal with the Spanish team at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, and the current Barça coach promises to listen to Neymar on his desire to achieve the same feat at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in August.
Besides Álisson and João Miranda, the Barcelona striker is one of three names over the age of 23 that the Brazilian technical commission intends to call up. UOL Esporte claims that Barça have no intention of releasing Neymar to compete in the Olympic Games, and will put forward a series of demands if they"re to allow him to go to Rio. Luis Enrique said: “The Olympic Games in your own country is something special for any sportsperson, no matter what the sport. He already has a prior commitment [Copa América]. We"ll have to see how we manage the situation so the demands on him are not excessive, always putting [the well-being of] the player first. And not just Neymar, but Rafinha too could be in both squads."
