2015 Brasileirão champions Corinthians lost both Jádson and Renato Augusto this month, and are in the market to sign a creative midfielder.
As reported by UOL Esporte, Corinthians stay close to signing former West Brom man Sebástian Blanco from San Lorenzo. The terms for a transfer has already been established between both clubs, but the Brazilians are still trying to reduce the wage requested by Blanco. After a €2.7 million bid was rejected by the Argentine side, Corinthians are set to pay €3.2m to have 100% of the player’s economic rights. The salary demands of the player, believed to be in the region of €76,000 per-month, is considered high by Corinthians. Blanco’s representatives have confirmed a new offer from Corinthians, but those close to the player thinks a settlement can only be reached next week. When contacted, the board of Corinthians didn’t confirm the new offer, and says that the midfielder is not their only focus in the search for new signings.
