The Football Association are to begin investigating Adryan’s transfer to Leeds United after suspicions that the player is owned by a third party.
The 20 year old Brazilian moved to Leeds on a season long loan deal from Flamengo last August with an option to sign him permanently this summer. The midfielder failed to have much of an impact and played only 13 times.
There are strict rules in England that prevent any payments being made to a third party except in exceptional circumstances.
“I’m seeing lawyers from the FA tomorrow,” said Leeds owner Massimo Cellino. “They tell me there is a problem so I asked them to come here and see me. We did nothing wrong. We dealt with Flamengo and they are his club. We never paid any money to anyone else.”
