At this World Cup, Müller is two goals behind Colombia’s James Rodríguez, who could still claim the individual prize after his side were eliminated by the hosts at the quarter-final stage.

The Bayern Munich man is aiming to add to his tally of four goals, to take him ahead of fellow semi-finalist Lionel Messi and the injured Neymar, all in joint-second place.

Messi’s Argentina take on the Netherlands in the second semi final, coming up against Robin Van Persie and Arjen Robben who both have outside shots at the Golden Boot, having each scored three goals.
