FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke has insisted there are “no risks” for the opening weeks of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The build up to the tournament has been marred with construction delays and problems with the various stadiums that are set to be used, but Valcke is confident that the IFA World Cup will run smoothly.
“We have everything ready for 12 June, we have the best base camps for the teams,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports.
“There are no risks for the opening weeks of the competition, which are the most challenging because there are the most teams.
“We are in control, we have nothing to fear in the coming days.”
