Alex Firmino, the agent of Hellas Verona loanee Rômulo, expects the midfielder to move to Veneto permanently.

The 27 year-old, who is on loan from Fiorentina, scored six goals and provided eight assists to help newly-promoted Verona finish 10th in Serie A this season.

Rômulo’s good form has earned him a call up to Italy’s provisional World Cup squad, while agent Firmino is confident that he will join Verona – who have a €3 million option to sign him outright – in the coming weeks.

“I haven’t spoken to Fiorentina and have to say they are not being very clear,” he told violanews, as reported by Football Italia.

“In my view we shouldn’t have dragged this situation on until the end of May. It should’ve been clarified earlier.

“I have only spoken to Verona, with director Sean Sogliano and he confirmed their desire to buy Rômulo outright.

“I believe and hope that there will be some news over the next week, as we already have other meetings with Verona planned and Fiorentina will have to make their voices heard.”
