Internazionale defender Juan Jesus is hoping for an extended stay at the Nerazzurri.

The 22 year-old, who joined from Internacional in January 2012, admits the club are going through tough period at the moment, but is eager to stick out, with the hope of winning silverware in the future.

"We must continue to play with grit and keep giving a thousand per cent on the field," he told Inter Channel. "It’s a difficult time and we have to get through it.

"How do I want to be remembered at this club? I had arrived during a time of change. I hope to stay and win it all with this shirt.

"The fans? They are our gasoline, without them there is no Inter. I always stop to see them at Appiano [training ground], even when it rains.

"Why did I choose the number 5? Dejan Stanković wore that shirt. I want to build a major history at Inter, so I wanted a shirt that already had history behind it.

"I liked Dejan as a player, so now I want to bring his number back up."

Juan has been a regular under Head Coach Walter Mazzarri. The Brazil international, capped four times, has made 22 appearances this term.
