Brazil national team captain Thiago Silva has revealed he would die for Barcelona forward Neymar if he had to and talked up the spirit in the Seleção squad.

Speaking to L’Equipe, the national team captain said he feels a successful World Cup could greatly benefit his country.

Silva revealed his admiration for Barcelona forward Neymar by virtually stating he would do anything for the 21-year-old.

The Seleção captain said: "If I have to run for Neymar, I will run for Neymar. If I have to die for Neymar, I will too.

"In this group, there is no one able to break the good atmosphere. One may earn more money, be more handsome, or feel happier, but there are no bad vibes."

Goal.com reported the quotes from the Brazil captain and he went on to discuss the disappointment attached to the Brazil footballers in 1950 who failed to win the home World Cup.

Winning the World Cup would be a moment to cherish the Seleção captain admitted.

“It would help improve the country"s situation," Silva added.

“This World Cup will be a unique moment in our lives. To become world champions in our country would be with us to the end of our lives.

“The 1950 team [who were upset by Uruguay in the tournament decider] could never know that joy and, even today, feels that disappointment."
