Sabri Lamouchi, the head coach of Ivory Coast, has made a rallying cry to the country’ supporters as he tries to garner a belief that his side can make an impact at the World Cup in the summer.

Often seen as the strongest of the African teams, boasting the talents of Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure amongst others, the Ivory Coast have never lived up to their billing on the biggest stage.

Lamouchi, 41, has said that his plan is “to make sure we reach the second round, which I know is possible because I trust my team.”

The manager also told supersport.com that he hoped that without the support of Ivorians, his team would fall short of the necessary levels needed to achieve his goal.

Ivory Coast are in Group C in Brazil alongside Colombia, Greece and Japan.
