Seleção star, Ronaldinho, has thanked his coach for giving him a second chance in his career and improving him as a player.

Ronaldinho signed for Mineiro after a troublesome spell at former club, Flemengo, leaving Europe where he made his name on the World stage.

Cuca signed the midfielder in 2012 and been a key cog in the Mineiro midfield, providing striker with many goals this season.

The midfielder has switched into the middle of the park this season with the backing of his coach: “I gave him license to roam instead of putting him out on the left, to allow him to bring our quicker guys into play,” said Cuca to FIFA Brazil.

Ronaldinho had this say about his new role: “It’s a role I played when I was younger, when I started out as a professional. And when I came to Atletico and Cuca explained to me what he had in mind for the team, I said it sounded great. I love being the main creator.”

Ronaldinho made his comeback from injury in the final round of the Brazilian Championship and scored two goals to help his side to a 2-2 draw.

Atlético Mineiro will play Raja Casablanca on Wednesday in the semi final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
