Carlo Ancelotti is hoping to be reunited with Ramires at Real Madrid.

According to The Metro, the Italian is readying a £15 million bid for the midfielder he brought to Chelsea from Benfica, in 2010.

Ancelotti paid €22 million to sign the Brazilian then and it is unlikely Chelsea will settle for less, given Ramires’ development in London.

With doubts over the future of Xabi Alonso, who is out of contract next summer and a target for former club Liverpool, Madrid are reportedly in the market for a replacement.

The Metro believes Ramires would be interested in making the switch, though names Tottenham Hotspur’s Paulinho as an alternative.

Prizing Ramires away from Chelsea would be a tough task. The 26 year-old has started all seven of The Blues’ Premier League games this season.

Manager José Mourinho would be loathed to lose a player he clearly values highly.
