Santos have confirmed that a deal with Napoli for goalkeeper Rafael is almost complete.
The 23-year-old Brazilian is expected to join the club on Monday in a €5 million deal, after the Partenopei fought off competition from Roma for his signature.
Santos Coach Claudinei Oliveira has revealed that all Rafael has to do is sign the contract and the deal will be concluded.
He said: “We know that the player will leave.
“He was a great goalkeeper in the history of Santos. It is all done, he just has to sign on the dotted line. Therefore it is best not to risk him in the next game.”
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Napoli have also approached Brazil international Júlio César, who is looking to leave Premier League side QPR, as reported on Football Italia.
It is believed that the veteran goalkeeper is seen as the ideal figure to help Rafael acclimatise to Serie A football, having spent seven years at Inter.
