Barcelona have offered 32 million euros for Roma’s promising defender Marquinhos, according to reports in Italian press.
Sky Sport Italia claims that Barcelona have upped their offer for Marquinhos to €32m as the original €25m offer was turned down.
The Spanish club’s main target is Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Silva but the French club are not willing to sell him. Marquinhos has thus emerged as an option for Barcelona, but PSG are also interested in the highly-rated defender.
Roma paid only €5m to sign Marquinhos from Corinthians last year, the 19-year old defender quickly became a key player for the Italian club, attracting interest from other clubs.
Besides Thiago Silva and Marquinhos, Chelsea’s defender David Luiz is also among the centrebacks shortlisted by Barcelona.
