Barcelona star Andres Iniesta has revealed he is relishing the prospect of potentially facing his new team-mate Neymar in this summer’s Confederations Cup.

The 21-year-old is set to sign a five-year contract at the Camp Nou on Monday, having rejected Real Madrid, after a deal worth around €28 million was agreed with Santos.

Speaking before the Catalunya club’s official announcement, Iniesta stated that a Spain-Brazil clash at next month’s tournament would be mouth-watering, but he is aware they need to reach the knock-out rounds first.

“For me and for every player, to go and play football in Brazil is unique,” he said in a Google + chat with fans. “First the Confederations Cup and then to be able to go to the World Cup will be magical.

“Brazil is special for everybody. It would be amazing to play some big games in the Maracanã, because it would mean the team had gone far in both tournaments.

“It would be great to play against Neymar and the Brazil side, for everything they represent and how good they are. Spain-Brazil would be a cracking game, but we need to see how the group stage goes.”

Neymar is part of Luiz Felipe Scolari’ 23-man squad for the World Cup warm-up competition, which starts on June 15.
