São Paulo president Juvenal Juvencio has announced that the club will sign Napoli flop Eduardo Vargas by Friday.
Vargas, 23, has been allowed to resurrect his career elsewhere having failed to adapt to life in Italy since moving from Universidad de Chile for around €10million last January.
The Chile international, who has failed to score in 19 Serie A games, reportedly saw a loan move to São Paulo fall through due to his wage demands, however, the deal looks to be on with the president’s announcement.
Juvencio told Radio Bandeirantes: “We’ll define his signing this week.
“The deal is basically done seeing as we are in agreement over the financial side of things and all the parties are happy.
“We are confident that the player will do well for us.”
Vargas has scored three goals for Napoli, all of which came in this season’s Europa League win against AIK.
