Diego Forlan is confident him and his new Internacional team-mates have everything in place to win the Campeonato Brasileiro this season.

The Uruguay international joined the Porte Alegre-based club last week after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Inter Milan.

Forlan arrived in Brazil last Saturday, and could make his Internacional debut when they host Santos at the Beira-Rio on Sunday.

The 33-year-old has been well received by the Colorado faithful, and he is confident his new side are more than capable of winning the Brasileirão for the fourth time in their history this season.

"I was not expecting so much affection [from the fans], but it is a great motivation," Forlan explained to Globo Esporte.

"This is a club that works hard, they have a great desire to grow and have won a lot of titles in the last few years. The group wants to be Brasileirão champions, and we have everything to win it."

After eight games, Internacional currently lie sixth in the Brasileirão, four points behind leaders Atlético Mineiro.
