The newspaper reports that Alex will visit the club in order to undergo a medical examination, before signing a contract to join the big-spending giants of the French game.

The story is also being carried by Radio RMC, adding credence to the suggestion that Alex could be the fifth Brazilian on the books at the Parc des Princes, alongside Argentine Javier Pastore.

Alex has been at Chelsea since 2007, following three years on-loan at PSV at Chelsea’s request. However, the Brazilian powerhouse has struggled to properly gain a foothold at Stamford Bridge, having found himself out of favour behind David Luiz, following a spell as understudy to Ricardo Carvalho.
