Dagoberto’s father, José, as with many of those born in the south of Paraná state is a supporter of the giant Porto Alegre club and would love to see his son pull on the famous red shirt one day.
“He is happy with the opportunity to play for Inter,” revealed the player’s mother, Adelines Pelentier. “His father has Inter in his heart, so the whole family is thrilled.”
Dagoberto had trials at Inter aged just 16, but despite scoring twice in the game was not picked up by the Gaúcho club.
“Of the thirty boys at the trial, only one got picked up. They didn’t justify why,” Dagoberto’s father José explained. “But, at sixteen he was much smaller than many others.”
Inter admit having an interest in Dagoberto, but deny having made any contact with the player whose São Paulo contract runs until 18th April next year.
However, from 19th October, Dagoberto will be free to sign a pre-contract with any club under the Bosman ruling.
