Fluminense coach Fernando Diniz openly discussed his team’s issues following a 3-0 defeat to Corinthians, recognizing the need for significant improvement.
“We’re struggling to find our rhythm this season,” Diniz stated. He emphasized that the team’s performance was below expectations, not just in this game but throughout the year.

Diniz highlighted the inconsistency in team attitude, contrasting their solid performance against Cerro with the lack of focus against Corinthians. “Against Cerro, the attitude was there. We were solid. But today, that focus, that determination, it just wasn’t there,” he noted.
The coach dismissed external factors such as refereeing or travel fatigue as reasons for the loss, pointing instead to tactical failures. “Our loss today stems from our own mistakes, our inability to execute well in the early phases of play,” he explained.

With the next game scheduled against Sampaio Corrêa on Wednesday, Diniz is focused on corrections. “We have to keep working, keep training. I believe we will correct these issues as soon as possible,” he asserted.
The match has been relocated from Maranhão to Cariacica to minimize travel strain. Diniz views this adjustment as a necessary strategy to manage the tight match schedule effectively.
