Internacional vice-president Luciano Davi has revealed that the club have turned down a fresh bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Leandro Damião.

It is understood that representatives of Spurs were in Porto Alegre last week trying to finally thrash out a deal with Internacional for the highly-rated 23-year-old despite having previously had two bids rejected.

However, speaking at a press conference on Monday afternoon, Davi claimed that Tottenham failed to meet Inter"s asking price for the player.

He said: "Tottenham came to us but their offer didn"t match our valuation of him. Leandro Damião is a national team striker and we have to value that."

The exact figure of Tottenham"s bid has yet to be revealed but it is believed that the north London club offered around £20 million.

Davi also went on to state that Inter are determined to keep hold of Damião at least until the end of the Campeonato Brasileiro season, which concludes in December.

"Our intention is not to sell Damião this year. He is an Inter athlete until December [at least]. The bid that was made wasn"t relevant and we are not interested in selling him," the Colorado chief added.

Damião"s contract with Inter runs until 2016.
