The FIFA Women’s World Cup is getting closer. The Brazilian team arrives at the contest as one of the great favorites, although the challenge will not be easy at all. That is why the squad already begins to prepare a month in advance.

A group of 16 players have already reported to the Granja Comary property in Teresópolis to place themselves under the orders of Pia Sundhage, the coach who will seek to take this team to the top in Australia and New Zealand.

Most of the soccer players present in Brazil are those who play in Europe, whose season ended at the beginning of the month, except for the Under 20 goalkeepers Ravena and Leilane. These are the 16 players who are already at Granja Comary:

  • Goalkeepers: Natascha, Ravena and Leilane
  • Defenders: Tainara, Kathellen, Rafaelle, Antonia, Mônica and Lauren
  • Midfielders: Ana Vitória, Angelina and Andressa Alves
  • Forwards: Gabi Nunes, Nycole and Geyse.

Sundhage will be able to present the list for the World Cup until June 26. The Brazilian women’s team will make their tournament debut almost a month later when they take on Jamaica. France and Panama will be their other rivals in Group F.
