Milan will target Fluminense defender Marlon in the January transfer window, according to reports.

Sportsmediaset claims that Head Coach Filippo Inzaghi is eager to add a new defender to his squad and it would seem Marlon is at the top of his shortlist.

The 19 year-old has broken into the Fluminense first-team this season and made 16 appearances in the Brasileirão.

His versatility – he can also play as a holding midfielder – is a further strength of the Duque de Caxias native, while he’s also been capped once by Brazil at under-20 level.

With Marlon contracted at Fluminense until September 2017, it won’t be easy for Milan to prize him away. But the opportunity to learn alongside Brazil international Alex and play for one of Europe’s more illustrious clubs could tempt him into pushing for a transfer.
