Real Madrid defender Marcelo is pleased to have returned to full fitness after a slow start to the season.
The Brazil international was struggling to find his best form in the early rounds of the campaign, but as he’s played more regularly, Marcelo believes he’s got back into shape.
I’ve been playing some matches lately and it’s got me in good shape," he told AS. "Apart from the confidence I get, it puts me in good shape physically."
Marcelo was part of the Real Madrid side that defeated Barcelona 3-1 in El Clásico on Saturday and the 26 year-old is confident they can maintain their current run of form.
"We’re going well," he added. "We need to improve some little things, like every team, but our form is good.
"We must take advantage of that and enjoy it. That’s the goal, what the Coach [Carlo Ancelotti] asks of us."
