Internacional talisman Andres D’Alessandro has called on the club to kick on for the rest of the year after they secured the Gaucho 1 state title on Sunday evening with a 6-2 aggregate win overe Gremio at the Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre.

The Argentine has been at the club since 2008, clocking up almost 200 appearances in that period. The creative attacker scored yesterday’s opening goal to send Inter on their way to a 4-1 win on the night.

D’Alessandro, who was last term voted the best foreigner currently playing in Brazil, told reporters: “Our goal is higher. We can not be alone in winning the Gaucho. The Cpa do Brasil and the Brasileiro are targets too.”

The latter of those tournaments starts this weekend, with Inter hosting Vitoria in the opening round of fixtures.
