Former Brazilian full-back Cafu, a world champion in 1998 and 2002, believes that Endrick is the biggest reason for hope for his country in the future. “He can become our greatest hope, our biggest star, the greatest idol of the last ten years,” he told the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo.
In his analysis of the current state of Brazilian football, the former player of São Paulo and Milan, among others, was critical of the lack of stars in recent times. “Brazil was left orphaned of idols,” he said. “We practically had no idols in almost any club, nor such unanimous figures in the national team as is the case with Endrick, although he’s still a kid.”

Cafú talks about Neymar, Endrick’s transfer to Madrid
In this sincere reflection on the lack of idols, Cafu also addressed Neymar’s situation. According to the retired defender, the Al-Hilal star can still be important for the Seleção. “He is a player with unquestionable technical quality, surpasses any footballer, but he needs to be well, eager, and committed,” he said.
Anyway, the former captain of the Seleção insisted on his optimistic view for Endrick, whom he believes will “do very well” moving to Real Madrid because he will meet “established players, but young ones,” such as fellow countrymen Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.
“And he will have a person who will be very important to him: (Carlo) Ancelotti, who knows how to work with young promises,” he added.
