XV de Piracicaba drew with leader São José EC last Sunday, 0-0, for the 6th round of the Campeonato Paulista A2. The match was not marked by the first victory of the white-and-black team at home, but it featured the debut of midfielder Guilherme Teixeira, 25 years old, for Nhô Quim. The player entered the game at 60 minutes and contributed with attacking movements.

“I was very happy to have made my debut for XV. Collectively, it wasn’t the result we were aiming for, but it was important to return to the field and to have my first match in the Paulistão,” said the midfielder.

Guilherme missed the first five rounds because he had a knee sprain at the end of the preseason, when he had been a starter in the friendly matches preparing for the competition. Already recovered, he focuses on helping the Piracicaba team to win the first home game, in front of their fans, in the 7th round, next Wednesday.

“We have to face the next game as another opportunity to win the first match at home in front of our fans and always see it as the most important. The goal is to be among the top eight and we are two points away from that. We can’t lower our heads.”

XV takes to the field on Wednesday at Barão da Serra Negra Stadium against Capivariano, at 8 pm (Brasília time).
