At only 23 years old, Vinicius Junior is on the verge of becoming one of the best players in the world. After shining in the Champions League semi-final return leg against Bayern Munich, the young Brazilian seems ready to succeed Kylian Mbappé at the top of world football.

Unlike Mbappé, who had a difficult evening with Paris Saint-Germain, Vinicius was able to raise his level of play in an important match. Lively, technical and decisive, the left winger was one of the main architects of Real Madrid’s qualification. Another match that confirms that the Brazilian is one of the best players in the competition in recent seasons.

According to consultant Walid Acherchour, Vinicius is even “a notch above” Mbappé. “The disastrous storytelling of Mbappé this week when he could have been extraordinary. I hope the French media have seen Vinicius’ performance,” he said.

Indeed, while Mbappé had a difficult evening, Vinicius was able to lead his team and make the difference. A high-level performance that proves that the Brazilian is now one of the best players in the world.

At just 23 years old, Vinicius still has significant room for improvement. If he continues on this path, there is no doubt that he will be able to claim the Ballon d’Or in the coming years. A reward that Kylian Mbappé will now have to cede to his future teammate at Real Madrid.

Remembering Zagallo
