“I am happy and very motivated with this opportunity. The fans can expect a lot of commitment and determination on the field. I want to concentrate as much as possible and repay all the confidence I have received. Here at Betim-MG, I will have the opportunity to make my debut in professional football, so the motivation is very high,” said the midfielder.

Guilherme earned the nickname “Kanté” back in Chapecoense’s youth academy. Over time, the nickname stuck and remained with him when he joined América-MG.

“Yes, it caught on. When I arrived at Chapecoense, there were many Guilhermes. So, they started calling me Kante because of my playing style, and then they never forgot… everyone started calling me, teammates, coach, president, and director. And when I came to América-MG, it stayed. I like the nickname, I see that I have similarities in playing style. It ended up becoming an inspiration for me,” he added.
