Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has spoken of his delight to be playing under Pep Guardiola. The Brazilian has competed against Guardiola’s Barcelona and Bayern teams in the past and is happy to now call Guardiola an ally.

The Spanish coach has won three La Liga titles, three Bundesliga titles, two Copa del Reyes, two German Cups, two Champions League titles and three World Club cups in his eight years as a top flight manager.

Brazilian Fernandinho, speaking before City’s pre season friendly against Manchester United in Beijing, couldn’t be happier to call Guardiola ‘boss’, telling City’s official website, “I’ve seen his former teams and played against Barcelona and Bayern Munich and of course it was very, very hard to play against them because they were great teams who won a lot of trophies.

“Now he’s on my side I hope we can win trophies together. Maybe I have another five or six years in my career and I hope to be happy with what I achieve.”
