Lucas Lima should race against time to be in playing conditions for the second leg of the final of the Campeonato Paulista against Audax, on Sunday at the Vila Belmiro.
To speed up the recovery of a right ankle sprain, the midfielder has started electrotherapy sessions on Monday at the club’s training centre. With a pulled ligament on the inside of the ankle, the playmaker is being subjected to treatment with a small electroshock device, in addition to physiotherapy, ice and medicines, to reduce the period of recovery. Santos’ medical department coordinator Rodrigo Zogaib said: “Midfielder Lucas Lima has a significant injury. He will be treated throughout the week in the training centre and we will use all the tools at our disposal, so that he can have his accelerated recovery, aiming at the end of the Paulistão.”
Lucas Lima was replaced in the second half of the 1-1 draw against Audax, after colliding with an opponent. He tried to stay on, but did not resist the pain, and was eventually replaced by Ronaldo Mendes who scored the team’s equalizing goal.
