Wendell Lira will have a statue in the city, and will become honorary citizen of Goianésia. Special edition stamps with the image of Lira’s historic goal will also be released. Goianésia is a city located 174 km from Goiânia, and the mayor says that Lira’s award got them the largest marketing they’ve ever had. The statue of Wendell Lira should be in front of the Estáfio Valdeir José de Oliveira, with a capacity of 3,500 spectators. The mayor said: “This award for Wendell was the world’s largest marketing Goianésia ever had. And Wendell is an example for all of us for his determination and resilience. Wendell had several difficulties. He underwent surgery on his knees, but excelled and is now an example, especially for players of Goianésia, who are very motivated for this season.”
