During a party of Instituto Neymar Jr held on Sunday afternoon in Praia Grande, the father of Brazil and Barcelona forward Neymar made it clear that his son will not play for Santos under the management of Modesto Roma Júnior.
Both parties have talked to the media recently to make their side clear, claiming they have been fair when it concerns the transfer of Neymar to the Catalan club in 2013. Santos even filed a complaint to FIFA against Neymar and Barcelona in May this year, and the player’s father said his son won’t be wearing the Santos shirt anytime soon. He qas quoted in Globo Esporte: “Neymar back at Santos with Modesto Roma as president? Of course not. And if, in the future, he is in any position within Santos, we will not return. With such people we will not work, you can be sure of that.”
Neymar’s father also claimed he is still a fan of Santos, but has problems with the people who are in charge of the club. He added: “My problem is not with the institution, not with the fans, because I’m a fan of Santos. The problem is with the people there.”
