Corinthians director Roberto de Andrade has denied reports that Liverpool have agreed a fee in principle for forward Alexandre Pato. Rumours circulated yesterday that Jurgen Klopp’s side had a deal in place to bring the Brazilian to Anfield in the January transfer window. However, Corinthians director de Andrade has moved to deny these reports.

He told Globo Esporte, “Corinthians have received nothing. Nothing concrete has arrived. I still think Pato is a great player, and I continue to be certain that we will negotiate a deal for the player on the European market.”

Pato is currently on loan at São Paulo, where his deal ends in December. Corinthians have been very public about their desire to sell Pato http://www.sambafoot.com/en/news/77509_corinthians_president_roberto_de_andrade_confident_of_selling_alexandre_pato_in_january.html to a European club, with the likes of Spurs, Everton, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland all previously linked. Pato’s contract with Timão runs until January 2017, therefore, they will be desperate to sell in the January window, or else risk losing him on a free next year.
