Lancenet are reporting that the CBF are keen to line up Corinthians manager Tite as the next manager of the Brazilian national side sooner rather than later. Reports have been circulating that the CBF have reservations about Dunga’s record in important competitive fixtures and that he could pay with his job if Brazil fails to beat Argentina in Buenos Aires next week.

Tite’s Corinthians side are one victory away from confirming the Brasileirão title and Lancenet report that the Brazilian governing body want to make their move. In an interview with ESPN Brazil last month, Tite confirmed his ambition to manage the Seleção once Dunga vacates the post. Lancenet suggest that sponsors are disenfranchised with the corruption controversies surrounding the CBF, with Jose Marin extradited to the US to face charges and with the lack of entertaining, winning football being served by the current manager.

Tite reiterated his desire to manage his country, but suggests that he doesn’t expect the job to become vacant until after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, “Will my time come, yes. When? When you earn it and when the cycle is ended. But I want to be quiet and do my job. Let Dunga finish, after the World Cup, who knows … I hope I am in a good moment at that time and that I deserve it.”

The Corinthians manager outlined his credentials for the role, continuing, “I know of my work, I know my part. What counts is that all my work has been for the whole team. These coaches rather have a media profile, like that. What I guarantee is that I will always seek something new, there is nothing worse than a coach that does the same things every day.”
