Germany defender Jerome Boateng can’t wait to come up against Brazil this evening as it means a first encounter with his Bayern Munich club colleague Dante, who is widely expected to start for Brazil in place of suspended captain Thiago Silva.

Speaking alongside national boss Joachim Low ahead of the game, Boateng said: “It is both an advantage and a disadvantage with Dante benig on the pitch. We know him, he knows us, and we look forward to meeting on Tuesday.”

“We want to win this game and then go back to being friends.”

“Brazil is playing at home in the cup, so they have an advantage with the crowd taking them forward. It’s a big challenge ahead and we are very motivated. The entire stadium will be against us, we have to focus on our performance and work as a team.”

The game in Belo Horizonte kicks off at 2100 BST and you can get the line-ups, live commentary and post-match analysis here on Sambafoot as always.
