Brazilian midfielder Kaka, who is effectively retired from international football after missing out on selection for the 2014 World Cup, says that he is enjoying watching the tournament as a supporter and backed the current squad to deliver in the next few weeks.

The AC Milan playmaker, 32, has won 87 caps for Selecao and said of the contemporary players: “There is a lot of pressure because it’s great to play a World Cup in your home country, close to all of the supporters. It brings a lot of responsibility but I hope Brazil can take advantage of being the host nation.”

“I think I’ll have agreat opportunity now to follow Brazil’s matches as a common supporter and go to the stadiums with my friends.”

On a separate note, the former Real Madrid man revealed something about his idols growing up, adding: “I was always a big fan of Ronaldo.”

“But I was also a very big fan of Ayrton Senna. I very much liked those two icons for Brazil and Brazilian sport. I liked Senna very much.”
